a tasteless life.
Approximately two weeks ago sickness attached its lovely self to my body. It came in steps let me tell you. "The Sickness Steps to Death" as it became entitled. I literally should have written a book about them. On and off sore throat at the end of Paris through to Bruges. Than full on bodily flu pains in Amsterdam. Waking up every morning with one more thing. You may think, what the heck more is possible. But believe me there are so many more possibilities in the "sickness Steps to death" world than you may know. Coughing, sore throat, fever sweats, ear aches, ear plugs, nausea etc. etc. For this vary reason, Amsterdam wasn't as wonderful as it could have been. Don't get me wrong. Probably my favourite stop on the whole trip thus far, which is weird since I was so ill. But anything could be better, there not be illness involved. And no vocals involved. Meaning, my voice was gone for over three days. Hot lemon water was my only saviour. Other than that, medicine and sleep did not help at all. The said "steps to death" were seriously killing me. All the way to Berlin, I had not healed. And today other than runny nose, slight cough attacks, and a plugged ear (which has been plugged for three days now..) I am doing fantastic. And this is fantastic in comparison to a few countries ago. Not being able to hear out of an ear is problematic but not being able to taste anything eaten is much worse. Texture just doesn't fulfil taste. Thus I will deal with my ear as long as I have my taste buds back. Amsterdamage.
